Lapland perch & pike

Again we get some nice reports from fishing guide Marcus Teilus from Lapland. He specializes in pike and perch fishing in the northern parts of Sweden, and we can really tell that there are many unpressured lakes with nice pike- and perchfishing. Pictured are some good fish from the last few weeks, perch around 1 kg and pike over 10 kg. Great fishes from unfished waters.

Kalix salmon runs

From river Kalixälven; The water has risen by 3 cm in the river so that the anglers now have a greater chance of catching a salmon. 238 salmon walked through the fishladder yesterday, which gives us 11,644 samlons overall, really nice numbers!

Teilus perch & pike

Here is a report from fishing guide Markus Teilus from a day with some foreign guests ::::  Over the last weekend, I went inland for a guided tour to the waters of Kronogård. A month ago I was contacted by a group of German/polish anglers, who were looking for a nice area to fish. They were after pike, perch and even grayling etc. It was a very nice group of angler, who also were skilled fishermen. Must say it was a very nice and pleasant guided tour of Kronogård and its waters. Unfortunately was not fishing on top that day, and only a couple smågäddor and some better bass deigned to bite our lures. Guests fished mostly with jig, as they experienced better hooking qualities and easier to unhook, with only a single hook. In this way did not harm the fish to the same. So they were very keen on fish and fishing, which is great to hear. They will be left behind and go fishing in the area for another week. When they got home, they would write a story and send it to me with a couple of pictures.

New owners of Tjuonajokk Fishing Camp

Mr Per Jobs with his company FishYourDream acquires Tjuonajokk Fishing Camp, one of Sweden’s most well known fishing lodges in Swedish Lapland. FishYourDream is an awarded sport fishing business on Gotland, Sweden’s largest island. “With the new family member Tjuonajokk, we have a year round fishing season and a true gem in the European sport fishing world” says Per Jobs.

Tjuonajokk is located in Swedish Lapland, just on the bank of pristine river Kaitum, 120 km (75 miles) north of the polar circle between Gällivare and Kiruna. In Tjuonajokk anglers from all over the world meet to fish one of the best grayling waters there is. Besides trophy size grayling, char, trout and large pike is targeted. Guides, accommodation, boats, sauna, shop and a fully licensed restaurant ensures comfortable access to top fishing in one of Europe’s last true wildernesses. The lodge is 35 km (22 miles) from the nearest road, so in the fly fishing season, July and August, helicopter is the only option for transfer and it is offered in all packages.

Jockfall first salmons

From fishing camp Jockfall and river Kalixälven in Lapland we get the following report:  Now the salmon season 2013 has started in Jockfall. Overall, some twenty salmon has been landed with a top fish of over 14 kilos. The counter in the fishway shows that 8 fish has passed. Unfortunately we have not been able to mount the underwater camera yet due to the high water levels. The water temperature is 11, 8 degrees C. Sixten Larsson, who has been fishing here for over 40 years hooked a huge salmon a few days ago. He had it close to the shore but when he tried to land it the fish so came off it and went away. Sixten estimated that salmon weighed around 25 kilos! At Jockfall we are happy to see those large salmon here again this year, and would like to remind you of largest one from last year that measured  149 cm.

Big pike from the ice

Again we can report some nice pike caught by Lapland fishingguide Marcus Teilus. He writes;

After som film, photos,weigh and measure, we could establish that my first 10+ pike from the ice fishing was caught. 10,98 kilo divided on 117 cm. A huge head, accompanied by a nice belly with a thinner grown second part of the pike. The joy is total when the fish is swimming back like nothing had happened.
