Fishing in Småland

Located in the south east of the country, the province of Småland is famous for its highlands, its cultivated flatlands and forests, covering some 50% of its area. It is also rich in lakes, the biggest of which are Åsnen and Bolmen. The southern wilds of Småland are perfect for experienced anglers as well as first timers. There is a rich variety of fish species; twenty-four in Åsnen alone, with the top predators being pike and zander. You can catch them by spin fishing, fly fishing and trolling. And you can book or charter a top-notch equipped boat and expert guide to better your chances of catching a real monster.

The fishing season here is from May to November. Choose from lakes, rivers and streams. Look out for lake Bolmen for pike, zander and trout and Risebo, a sport fishing and wilderness spot with many lakes for wild perch, pike and tench. All types and standards of accommodation on offer from luxury hotel and country house stays to self-catering cabins.
