Rumma Hunting, Fishing & Nature

Storsjön Rumma is located in Östergötland County, but in the Småland Province. The highland countryside offers many lakes, all embedded in lovely natural settings. Lake Storsjö is home base and is filled with pike, perch and various white fish. Immediately to the south you’ll find Lake Vindommen, perhaps the most beautiful lake in the area offering many coves, points and shallows. Here too you can fish for pike, perch and pikeperch. To the north is Lake Yxningen, a large and deep, 3000 ha clear water lake with many islands.

At Rumma Hunting, Fishing & Nature we speak Swedish and English.

Our cabins are open from April through October. Spring and autumn is the best season for true fishing enthusiasts, while the summer is perfect for glorious family trips. When the ice lies deep on Lake Storsjö we can also offer ice-fishing.

Other activities

At the town of Åtvidaberg (30 km) there is a superb 18-hole golf course located in the oak landscape near lake Bysjön. Here you can also find the Åssa Industry and Auto Museum featuring the Åtvidaberg car from 1911. Near the northern tip of Lake Vindommen there are Iron Age graves, an 13th century church ruin and a hill fort. Riding Iceland ponies over a 4 km course is another option.

Additional information

We look forward to welcome all anglers to the beautiful area around lake Storsjön and Vindommen.

3 Linder 440 boats with 4/6 hp, 4-stroke motors. 1 Linder 445 Max with 40 hp, 4-stroke motor, well-equipped for guiding. Depth charts for lakes Storsjö, Vindommen and Yxningen. Life jackets included. Fishing equipment

Char, Gullspång salmon, pike, pikeperch and perch can all be hooked with trolling (motorized or rowing), spin-fishing and vertical ice-fishing. Whitefish and perch bite on various forms of coarse fishing. Between April and November pike will bite on jigs, wobblers, drag, jerk-bait, vertical ice-fishing and larger spinners, preferably all in bright colours. Preferring warm waters, perch and pikeperch will rise to jigs, small wobblers, spinners, worms (perch) and pirks from May through September. Pikeperch also make for evening and night fishing.

Fishing regulations

We feel that keeping more fish than you can eat during the day is simply unethical. All other fish should be released. There are minimum/maximum sizes on pike and perch, as well as minimum for crayfish.

Our two West Coast cabins in Rumma are placed close to each other, both with a view over Lake Storsjö and each one 50 sq.m. in size.
The Ekbacken cabin has two bedrooms with 5+1 beds. The Logen cabin has four beds. Both have a living room with a wood stove, modern kitchen with essential equipment and Ekbacken has a TV. They also have WC/shower and terraces with outdoor furniture and grills. We offer only self-catering lodgings. Beach and boats are around 100 m from the cabins. A nature preserve with a 2 km long hiking trail is also close by. There are also excellent forest roads for cycling and hiking. If you want to you can pick berries and mushrooms. Possible day trips include Astrid Lindgren’s World and the Kolmården Wildlife Park with its brand new gondola that takes you around the park.
